Acid Rain in the U.S. and Canada

The cover story focused upon a ten year environmental study conducted on Vermont’s Camel’s Hump mountain. According to the experts, the effects of acid rain where virtually invisible to the casual observer, but careful measurement revealed significant degradation in the forests over the period of the study. I used a maple leaf plucked from a tree outside my studio to capture the essence of the story conceptually. The cover design was later featured in the northeast regional edition of Print Magazine’s best design issue of that year.
