Guatemalan father
acrylic on board
I was assigned by the Providence Journal to write and illustrate a story on the relief agency Plan International that was headquartered in Rhode Island. My task was to produce a magazine feature on the organization’s work in Guatemala by focusing upon the life and community of a twelve year old child whose family was enrolled in the program. Guatemalan Father is a portrait of the child’s father, a brick layer, who had been out of work for some time.
